Forehead Lift (Brow Lift)
Deep furrows and wrinkles of the forehead and brows along with drooping skin of the brows and corners of the eyes are drastically improved with a forehead lift. A forehead lift creates a smooth skin surface and is an excellent alternative when Botox treatments can no longer effectively correct wrinkles of the forehead.
Forehead Lift Consultation
During the initial consultation Dr. Ness will evaluate your medical history and determine if you are a good candidate for a forehead lift. Dr. Ness and his assistants will take the time to educate you about forehead lift surgery and welcome all of your questions about the surgery, our practice, and recovery after your brow lift surgery.
A forehead lift is often combined with surgery of the upper and lower eyelids depending on the patient’s desires. Read more about eyelid surgery here.
Forehead Lift surgery
There are several approaches to forehead lift surgery. One of the newer and increasing popular approaches to the brow is an endoscopic technique. Small incisions are made behind the hairline and the brow can be re-positioned to a more youthful position. Patient who have high hairlines can benefit from an incision made at the edge of the hairline that helps to reduce excess forehead skin and elevated the brow position. A eyebrow lifting technique that is more popular for balding men is done through the eyelid utilizing an Endotine resorbable tack that helps to hold the brow in it’s new position.
A forehead lift is a same-day procedure performed in one of our fully accredited outpatient surgery facilities such as WestHealth in Plymouth, MN, Maple Grove Hospital in Maple Grove, Minnesota, or CentraCare Surgery Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Forehead Lift Recovery
Following your brow lift surgery, you will be cared for by the nursing staff in the recovery room. When you are fully awake and comfortable, you will be released to the care of a family member or friend with a list of after-care instructions.
Many brow lift patients return to work after 5-7 days of recovery time at home. There will be guidelines for after-care including lifting restrictions and limited exercise. We will schedule post brow lift surgery follow up appointments in one of our Minneapolis metro area or St. Cloud, MN clinics periodically, including the day after your procedure.
